ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND in 25 words or less:
Surreal premise weds surprisingly well with realistic characters, reactions, motivations, slices of life. . . even through the conclusion. Excellent performances by all. Kaufman's a frickin' genius. A.
HELLBOY in 25 words or less:
Don't believe the hype - this film is trite and overwrought. I expect more than strong cartoony visuals, decent fights, product placements, and snappy bon mots. C+.
On a related note, and (because I say so) not in violation of the 25-word rule: is there anyone out there in lj-land who has seen Hellboy and also read Fray? If so, do any of you know why I'm asking? Not to give away any spoilers, but it's just that... it's been bugging me since the moment I saw Hellboy and Abe Sapiens in the same room on screen.
